since a lot of people have been cheating the system by keeping battles until cardinal bonus time, the event has been updated to now apply the cardinal bonus when you begin the battle.

you will no longer get cardinal bonuses by waiting to check the battle results when the cardinal time comes.

Regarding the 3* weapons. Will the gold brick unlock the 4* or you also need the respective seal? Wondering if I need to get the seal and the nuggets or only the nuggets.

Just the seal. gold brick is use to mlb your gatcha SSR weapon or to build your GW weapon.
note: save gold nugget for GW character

You better not play the rest of the game, since the grind for anything else will always be MUCH greater than this event.

Also, there should be no stoppage for grinding this event. It's the only event to consistently obtain Hihirokane, and you need them for GW characters.

For the katana Ray of Zhu Que, does it has any skill as bonus for max level, similar to how the Zhuque harp did?

No but the original skill will change to normal ATK II and can be leveled to 15
