Here are couple things that I think everyone should know.
Classes:
Have these classes ready. The more versatile your MC can be, the easier you can get into HL run or composing a group.
DF - Dark Fencer
HE - Hawkeye
SS - Superstar
BS - Bishop
HS - Holy Shield
EX:(Highest Skill you can get in the category)
Blind, Rage, Armor Break(Defense Breach), Dispel, Veil/Mantle, Clear All(Clarity), Arrow Rain, Break Keep, Charm Voice and Dual Impulse(Double Trouble)
Dual Impulse need Spear as Main Hand Weapon; without spear you cannot give RAID buff.
HP:
HL Boss hits generally for 5.5K to 6.5K normally also Double Attacks and Triple Attacks are pretty much normal attributes. You should have minimum 8K HP or recommended 10K hp to go HL run. So, keep around 1 set of HP weapon if necessary.
Summon:
Other than standard summons that boost your attack/hp there are couple that are good to have:
Athena, 4* Appolo(Veil/Mantle), Baal, Break Keep stones such as Macura Marius and Medusa, Garuda, Dark Angel Olivia and of course Carbuncles.
De-buff:
De-buffs are necessary and important to keep up but re-apply too early is not good. Each de-buff has its own resistance value by the boss so eventually the boss will resist to a particular de-buff completely for a while. On a short fight, this isn't a problem but when you're in a long haul, you need to pace out your de-buffs application such as re-cast when the de-buff has 10-20 seconds left. This is important especially for Gravity and Fear. These two build resistance too fast so please don't re-apply when Boss is on Break or Stun.
Stun:
Stun is a powerful tool that can help smoothing out your run but it can also destroy a run if used incorrectly. As general rule of thumb, don't use stun near phase change or 1-hit KO trigger. In HL Boss often have 1-hit KO mechanic at certain HP% or phase change, it's necessary to let people receive proper damage cut to past this type of hurdle. You also need to know how long each type of stun last and what you can do during stun time.
Ninja Stun n Sorn 2nd ability:
These two have 30 secs stun. In general you can do 5 set of attacks(hit attack button 5 times) without any kind of lag or delay. You can push to 7 set of attacks.
Sorn Ougi:
This stun last 60 secs so you can generally safe to attack 10-12 times.
Knowing how long stun last can help prevent you from eating an Ougi when stun end.
Break Mode:
Boss usually have 60 secs Break Mode. Macura and Medusa break keep can add 60 secs. Additionally, stack able with HE Break Keep with TH9 for another 60 secs.
Knowing how long Break Mode last will prevent you from eating an Ougi when boss goes into Normal Mode.
Recommended Power:
Basically don't go into HL run unless you got 3* weapon completed and Skill Level 10 them. You can go in with less if you got at least 2 people in there that has complete their weapon pool. Completed means they're 4* with +99.
Otherwise, you're going to a 40+ minute HL run instead of a 15 minutes run.
For the easy Nataku and Appolo HL, you pretty much can ignore above statement.
For the 2 hard Twin Elements and Medusa HL. Please re-consider.
Your damage output in HL is pretty much half compare to what you can do to Magna/Omega and Event Bosses.
Strategy:
Read the strategy before you go. It help when everyone knows the flow of the fight.
