Greetings,
I hope everyone is doing well.
My name is Asasiyun, and as you could have probably guessed by now, I am new to this game and platform.
Upon discovering this title a year or so ago, I was disappointed to have learned that it was a Japanese exclusive game. It really disappointed me as I was allured by Granblue Fantasy's (GBF) gorgeous character designs, the inspiring and imaginative atmosphere, and for some reason, the nostalgia - this game really had it all.
Just recently I had learned that it was possible to play this game, not only in English, but by using a URL address in either Safari or Chrome (not referring to the Chrome Web App or Mobile Web App). I'm referring to the following link:
game.granbluefantasy.jp/
While everything appeared simple enough, I did come across curious aspects of the game, and I do have a couple of questions that I feel are necessary to have answered before I take this game seriously. I will first like to learn more about matters regarding account creation information, and once I have understood this aspect of the game completely, I will, if the community so allows it, ask questions about playing the actual game I did not have answered by reading the great and informative guides already on display.
Some points to consider:
- I only intend to play the game using the aforementioned URL
- I only intend to play the game using Safari on a Macbook Air
- I have read many of the guides on this forum, and have looked over the Q&A thread as well
- I'm not interested in re-rolling (i.e. I'll be happy with whatever I pull the first time I play)
- I probably won't be able to play seriously until next week (I hope to garner as much information as necessary before then)
- Much of what is mentioned in this thread may appear to be straightforward and rather simplistic, but that is simply because I want to make sure I've given enough information in order to receive adequate feedback
After typing the aforementioned URL into my web browser, a page appears allowing me to Continue or create a New Game.
The game then proceeds to what I believe is a tutorial?
I've skipped cut-scenes - I won't be doing so when I actually play the game...
Not sure if this matters whatsoever...
Once the first few battles are over, I'm sent to what appears to be the main menu (i.e. a screen displaying my party leader, as well as other options).
After a couple of short explanations, I'm directed toward the Draw screen where I'm forced to Draw 10 Using Rupies.
I acquire weapons, and a new unit by the name of Walder.
I'm briefly taught about Party, Units, Equipment, Summons, etc.
Soon after I'm shown further cut-scenes (this time featuring new unit Walder).
I skip the cut-scenes and I am redirected to a page requiring authentication:
It asks me to:
Choose a service to link with your Granblue Fantasy account.
The options are the following:
- Mobage
- Gree
- DMM Games
Having said that, the following are the questions I would gratefully like answered:
1. How does GBF run on a Mac using Safari? Will it be smooth and fluid? I ask because I've only tested this game out on Google Chrome for the PC.
2. Is it necessary to register using one of the aforementioned options? Can I not simply use a Gmail account and use that to log into my account every time I play GBF?
3. Is it possible to create an account before the tutorial (i.e. to start the tutorial with an account already registered)? Does it matter?
4. If it is absolutely necessary that I must register an account using the aforementioned services, which should I use, why, and is there a detailed summary of how to use either of them somewhere on these forums that I may be directed towards?
5. Any other information or useful hints and tips that I should know about before starting this game (i.e. regarding account creation, etc.)?
I would appreciate it if the answers came in the same numerical format I have used to ask the questions, for simplicity's sake.
I'd like to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read my thread and provide me with your much appreciated help and support. I do apologize for the length of my post, but like I mentioned earlier, I simply wanted to be as descriptive as possible in order to avoid any misconceptions.
Thanks, everyone!
